In November, L2s have been posting some 3x more transaction data each day to mainnet than they did in March.

The recent surge in Ethereum gas fees can be attributed to the rise in decentralized finance (defi) activity and the growing popularity of layer 2 (L2) chains such as Arbitrum and Optimism, Ken Timsit, managing director of Cronos Labs, has said. Timsit however agreed that the recent Dencun upgrade to the Ethereum network has helped […]

Following the debut of the Dencun upgrade and Ethereum blobs, enthusiasts have devised methods to embed data akin to how Ordinal inscriptions operate. Since this development, inscription-based activities now account for over 40% of blob transactions, leading to a significant increase in network activity. This uptick has resulted in a congestion of blob transactions, pushing […]
]]>In the aftermath of the recent Dencun upgrade and the deployment of EIP-4844, there has been a noticeable decline in transaction fees across various Layer 2 (L2) networks. This development marks a significant step forward in addressing the issue of high transaction costs within the Ethereum ecosystem. During the last hour (9:00–10:00 UTC+8), several L2 networks witnessed a considerable reduction in transaction fees. Optimism, for instance, reported an average transaction fee of $0.05, with a median fee of $0.0038. Similarly, Base recorded an average fee of $0.064 and a median fee of $0.0008. Arbitrum and zkSync Era also experienced reductions
